The Ministers Council
ABC Metro Chicago
The Ministers Council is an independent, non-profit organization of ordained, commissioned and lay Christian leaders who are serving American Baptist Churches.
The Ministers Council is the only American Baptist organization dedicated exclusively to the wellness of church leaders (ordained, commissioned and licensed).
Following a 2017 survey, our local chapter’s cabinet discerned a clear leading to dedicate programs to clergy health and wellness in 2018 and beyond.
This will include teaching, conversation and gathered resources with emphases on:

Self-Care Workshops and Resources Encompassing Body, Mind, and Spirit

Exploring Partnerships with Relevant Health Supporting Institutions

Emerging Leaders... We care about YOU!
Launched in the Fall of 2018, our Local Chapter has formalized a long-standing desire to connect, support, guide and learn from our newest emerging faith leaders.

CONNECT in-person at seminary events, online and through social media

GATHER information and interests to shape project support

MENTOR through evolving one on one and small group opportunities

GUIDE with a focus on navigating denominational processes such as ordination, commissioning, etc.

LEARN about living out core ministry values of Collegiality, Competence, Centeredness in TODAY's world

INSPIRE commitment to ministerial excellence for Jesus Christ throughout the community
